To a Rahway resident ready for an
amazing experience with martial arts,
Many years ago, I was like you. I hadn't thrown a kick or a punch. Martial arts seemed as foreign as the far eastern countries it came from. Yet, for some reason, I was drawn toward these arts. Something pulled me in.
Years later—after lots of intense training—I became a master in my art. But that wasn't enough for me. In the same way I was drawn to learn martial arts, I felt a calling to teach it and pass on its timeless lessons to our community.
Along the way, I learned how to give my students the best experience possible. Here's what you can expect when you walk through our doors:
The Best Instructors You'll Ever Encounter.
A great teacher is essential for a transforming experience. Our instructors are hand-picked for their passion, expertise, and for their desire to teach the profound lessons of martial arts to all who would listen.
They're eager to help you learn and grow. They'll push you to surpass your limits, challenge you to rise above challenges, and answer any and all questions you have along the way.
They're patient, knowledgeable, and there for you.
An Uplifting, Clean & Safe Environment.
Next, it's critical that our facility be clean, safe and a positive environment. After all, the best instructors cant make up for dirt, grime, broken equipment and an out-dated atmosphere. The entire studio is cleaned daily - and very rigorously too. We scrub the matts, sweep and mop the floors, wipe down the equipment and more.
When you walk in, you'll walk into a clean space that breathes support and positivity. And you'll instantly know that this is a place for reaching goals and achieving success.
And finally, community is the final ingredient. Our instructors and facility are the perfect environment for people to come together, encourage each other, and help each other learn and grow. Veteran members help out beginners in learning. People partner up for exercises, and motivate each other to try their hardest.
And often, entire families train here. After all, we have kids and adult programs, and often parents train with adults while their children learn and grow with other kids.
On this website, you'll learn more about our programs and our school so you can decide if you feel we're a good fit. You'll have the option to try out our classes with an amazing, risk-free offer. That way you can come into our studio and make sure, firsthand, we're the right school for you.
I can't wait for the opportunity to help you master the martial arts.
Martial arts have been taught to kids for literally thousands of years. The training builds the traits of discipline, focus, patience, and compassion. While compassion may be a surprising term when used with martial arts, it's important to understand that martial arts teach non-violence, diplomacy, and understanding. Talking and understanding one another's viewpoints are seen as greater means to an end than violence. Violence is taught as the very last option a child should ever consider, and even then, only when it's important to defend oneself.Click for Children's Program
Kickboxing became a national sport in the United Stated in 1962. Full-contact tournaments were held that combined western-style boxing with martial arts from Asia. Back in those days, there were hardly any rules associated with the sport. There were no weight divisions - so a man of 120 pounds might face a man of 200 pounds. Fast forward to today, and the sport of kickboxing has greatly changed. The rules are clear and safe. In these classes, you won't have to worry about any of that though. Our focus is on the fat-burning benefits that come with professional kickboxing training.Click for Kickboxing Program
European martial arts date back to ancient Greece, where boxing is said to have originated. Asian martial arts are said to go back as early as the late 1st millennium BC. One thing is clear: for thousands of years self-defense has been a widely sought-after skill for men and women alike. Martial arts training has traditionally focused on physical, mental and spiritual growth. A master martial artist is one who is physically strong and in excellent shape, has a clear, sharp mind, and is spiritually at peace with himself and the rest of the world. While on the surface it may seem like “just punches and kicks”, it's clear there's a lot of depth & profundity in the training & practice.Click for Adult Karate Program
Krav Maga is an Israeli-born self-defense system that focuses on teaching students how to respond in fast, intense, real-world situations. Krav Maga is considered very “no-nonsense” because it focuses on targeting your opponent's most vulnerable points, i.e. the neck/throat, eyes, groin, solar plexus, and others. It utilizes the body's natural inclinations and instincts for efficient movements that feel very natural and easy to learn. Krav Maga also teaches the use of objects and aspects of your environment / surroundings for the most effective self-defense possible.Click for Krav Maga Program
MMA—or mixed martial arts—is a sport which combines aspects of popular, powerful martial arts from around the world. The goal in combining these different disciplines is to give MMA fighters the most well-rounded offensive strikes and defensive maneuvers possible. Fighters train to attack and defend from both standing and laying positions. Some of the martial arts that are often taught in Mixed Martial Arts are Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Judo, wrestling and Taekwondo. MMA matches are held either in traditional boxing-style rings, or in caged rings. Victory is achieved when a fighter either goes unconscious (Total Knock Out), when a fighter surrenders, or when all rounds are complete and judges score the fighters based on the attacks they were able to execute.Click for MMA Program
